Practice Area / Expertise
I am a Legal Director in the Property Development Team. I have over 22 years of experience in advising clients on a wide range of commercial property and development matters. I am known for my attention to detail and for dealing with complex transactions working closely with clients to achieve their objectives often within extremely tight timeframes.
For the last 11 years, I have specialised in all aspects of developmental matters from long term strategic sites, land assembly with multiple landowners, site acquisitions and disposals, overage and clawback agreements, development set ups, complex planning agreements including affordable housing agreements and viability review assessments and mechanisms, planning issues through to asset management, plot sales and lettings on residential, commercial and mixed use schemes.
Prior to that I spent over 11 years in 2 leading City law firms advising a broad range of clients on real estate matters to include property acquisitions and disposals, sale and leaseback transactions, property finance, investment and joint venture arrangements, landlord and tenant matters as well as residential and commercial developments.
My clients include listed corporations, banks, pension funds, developers, landowners as well as private companies and individuals.
I regularly act on complex transactions involving complicated consortium, collaboration and JV agreements, options, conditional contracts, pre-emptions, overage, buy backs, first refusals as well as negotiating complex planning agreements and infrastructure documents. I have advised on a number of long term strategic land sites and acted for several consortiums of developers some of which have sites of over 3,000 residential units. I act for a range of developers from national housebuilders to first time developers as well as acting for landowners.
