As Head of the Leasehold Enfranchisement department, William leads the team advising on all aspects of leasehold reform and leaseholder rights. He provides commercially focused, strategic advice to a broad range of clients, including landlords, developers, housing associations, investors, leaseholders, and management companies.
Known for his ability to simplify complex legal issues, William delivers clear, realistic guidance that helps stakeholders make confident decisions. His approach is both practical and creative, often finding effective solutions to challenging or unusual problems. He also regularly delivers training sessions and speaks on developments in enfranchisement law and leasehold reform.

- Acting for leaseholders across large estates, including claims requiring over 100 notices under the ‘Aggio’ principle
- Advising on the sale of mixed-use buildings under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987, often involving detailed structuring and risk management
- Managing high-value house enfranchisement claims with challenging qualification issues under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967
- Completing large-scale Right to Manage claims, including one for a block of over 200 flats
- Handling contentious Tribunal proceedings involving multiple experts
- Advising on the future of leasehold structures, including Commonhold and proposed legislative changes
