Powers of Attorney

The Harold Benjamin Private Client team is regularly consulted by clients who are concerned that they – or another family member – are nearing a position where they may become unable to deal with their affairs due to physical or mental deterioration. The Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) process entrusts the control of these affairs to a nominated person or people when they become unable or unwilling to manage them personally.

Whether this requires a Health & Welfare LPA which appoints people to make decisions about medical care and living situation or a Property & Financial Affairs LPA which appoints people to make decisions about your money and property we can help.

Also, if you or another individual has not made an LPA and are no longer able to deal with relevant affairs, we can advise on the process of applying to the Court of Protection to appoint a Deputy to look after property and/or health and welfare.
