I am an experienced litigator with a particular specialism in commercial and residential property disputes.
Experience
I have expertise in the following matters.:
- Commercial lease renewals (opposed and unopposed)
- Possession Claims
- Forfeiture proceedings
- Rent and Service Charge disputes
- Claims for damages for dilapidations
- Boundary disputes including claims to register easements by prescription
- Breach of covenant claims
My wider litigation experience includes dealing with claims in respect of professional negligence, contractual disputes and contested probate.
I have experience in dealing with claims at County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) and mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Notable Cases
Malik v Sheikh [2018] EWHC 973 – Acted for the successful appellant in this case which related to the presumption of undue influence between family members
Patel & Patel v Patel & Patel [2016] WL 02908670 – Acted for the successful landlords in opposing the grant of a new tenancy on the ground that they intended to occupy the premises for their own business
Almacantar Centre Point Nominee No.1 Limited and another v CID Investments Ltd and others [2021] EW Misc 11 (CC) – Acted for the landlord of the iconic Centre Point House, London in a claim for injunctive relief restraining the use of a flat for short term lets on Booking.com
